Exercise in class where we had to make a matte medium collage using bits of our own artwork. I didn't feel like printing out anything special, so I used some leftover photocopies of figure studies and on-site gestures as my bits.
I've always liked the texture of pastels, so I've been trying to improve myself in that medium. Here are a few 'successful' pastel sketches. They're all either drawn from observation or using imagination.

I've started Conceptual Illustration with Barron Storey, and I must say, I'm really enjoying it. ^_^ Our first assignment was to develop a portrait of a rising star. I chose Ellen Paige, and this is the finished portrait I made for her. We had to make several "roughs" before we got to the finished piece, so I posted the roughs underneath. All of these were created using photographic scrap (since I can't get Ellen to pose for me >.<), so all credit for the poses, etc. are copyright to the respective photographers and/or movie production. I only drew the images.
Not really fine art, but I thought I'd draw a little something for myself as well as practice a bit with Photoshop. I'm probably going to keep updating with a few of these for the summer, since I'm trying to rediscover why I'm pursuing art as a career. It has no background, which inherently bothers me, but I feel done with this image.
I painted some color studies of trees for Tidepool. Each one took me about an hour or so to paint, so I want to work on "sketching" more quickly with the brush this weekend.
